About The Academy
TWO MORNINGS
IN THE SAND
The Horseshoe Elite Beach Volleyball Academy runs Saturday and Sunday at the Boise State Beach VB Courts, led by Boise State University Beach Volleyball athletes. Campers get hands-on instruction in every part of the beach game: serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, and the footwork that makes you move in the sand.
Sessions are split into three age-appropriate groups so every player gets instruction matched to their skill level, with a low athlete-to-coach ratio and an encouraging, high-energy environment. Whether your athlete is new to the sand or already playing competitively, they will leave with cleaner technique, better movement, and a stronger understanding of what it takes to play beach volleyball at the next level.

WHAT CAMPERS WORK ON
Both mornings cover the full beach skill set, taught in small groups and then put straight into live play.
Passing & Serving
Platform control, serve accuracy, and consistent contact, taught rep by rep by Boise State beach athletes.
Setting & Attacking
Hand placement, approach footwork, and hitting through the ball instead of at it.
Blocking & Defense
Reading the attacker, defensive reads at the net, and covering ground behind the block.

- Sand-specific movement: shuffling, explosive first steps, and how to play in soft sand
- 2v2 game situations and competitive rally play with Division I coaching
